Cutting immigration effects on Medicare

- Immigration funds not only social security but also Medicare


- Immigrants pays about 166 dollars to the Medicare Trust Fund for every person in the United States every year


- While a native-born United States Citizen take away about 51 dollars per person every year


- Some states like Georgia and Virginia, immigrants give almost 700 dollars per person to Medicare


- This is important as cutting immigration would significantly cut into the budget of Medicare, which would have a significant negative consequence to older Americans.


- Therefore, immigration have a net surplus towards the Medicare system in the United States, while native-born relies significantly on those surpluses to cover their own Medicare
