First and second generation immigrants

- Even though crime rate rises among second generation immigrants, it is still slightly lower than native-born united states citizens.


- Plus the different between crime rates of first and second generation immigrants is also vastly different.


- The increase in crime rate could also be explained as a form of assimilation to the American society, as they grew up in the united states, their behaviors would follow the same pattern as native-born citizens.


- "second generation immigrants feel caught between two conflicting worlds - the old world of their parents and the new world of their birth". This shows that immigration can be even better if they feel welcomed to the country, therefore they do not have to pick between the two.
